Knowledge = Power

Trust & Mane Extensions are all ethically sourced Russian Remy hair. The technology that is used for aligning the cuticle is unique and keeps it fully intact. All of the hair is colored with a special plant extract to insure no damage is done to the hair, leaving it feeling super silky and smooth.

Our hand-tied hair is double drawn and hand-sewn to perfection, and is the lightest of all of our hair.

Our flat-track is the lightest, thinnest machine weft on the market (only to be rivaled by hand-tied). It lays invisibly in your natural hair. All of our wefts come in a variety of shades needed to create the most gorgeous mane; however, if you can’t find an exact match, all of our hair can be colored with high quality, permanent hair color.

What are hand tied hair extensions?

Hand tied hair extensions are lengths of loose hair that are tied by hand into wefts. These should not be confused with machine tied wefts, which are similar, but are sewn together by machine. There are many ways that hand tied or machine wefts can be attached to your natural hair and many of them use sewing and micro beads. Beaded weft or sew in techniques are known for being the healthiest way to add a large amount of hair all at once, and they are the best long-term technique for dramatic transformations in length and volume.

These extensions and techniques have developed many different names, including sew in extensions, hand tied wefts, mermaid hair, natural beaded wefts or rows, braidless sew ins, and yes, even white girl weaves. Your stylist at Trust & Mane will be able to answer any questions you might have about these related, but sometimes confusing descriptions.

What is the difference between hand-tied and machine weft?

Machine wefts are made by a machine. They have a quarter inch band across the top, holding all of the stands together. Because of this band, machine wefts can be cut! Also, each individual strand is a little thicker than a hand-tied strand.

Hand-tied wefts are made by hand. These wefts have no band, and can therefore, not be cut! These stands tend to be thinner and lend themselves better to a more natural looks.

What does the process look like?

At Trust and Mane Extensions, we are comfortable with walking you through your first time with hand tied hair extensions. We start with a free consultation where we listen to your hair goals, and come up with a solution together that helps you achieve them. During the consultation, we will find the exact match for your hair color, length, and texture. Once we decide on a plan, we will make your extension appointment and require pre-payment to order your hair extensions. When your appointment date arrives, we will prep your hair and begin installing the extensions to your existing hair. Our technique is a blend of other popular techniques and is adapted to your specific hair type, density, situation, and desires. We usually finish with a cut and style, where you can finally see the amazing results!

How much do hand tied hair extensions cost?

Pricing for these hair extensions varies based on the color, length, and amount of hair being installed. All inclusive prices can range anywhere from $500, to $800 or more. If you care for your hair well, you should be able to use the same packs of hair for 9 months, or more!

How much hair comes in each pack?

For Machine Wefts: 100 grams/pack

For Hand-tied Wefts: 100 grams/pack for non-rooted, and 120 grams/pack for rooted

Where do the hair extensions come from?

We have actually tested and tried out various hair extensions for years, and have used our knowledge and expertise to curate our own line of hair extensions! All of our hair is ethically sourced European or Russian, human cuticle-intact remy hair, which means it is the highest quality and oriented in the same direction as your existing hair to prevent tangling.

How should I take care of my extensions?

We recommend brushing regularly with a special hair extension brush, staying out of salt water and chlorine, using paraben and sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, and making sure that your hair is dry when you go to bed at night. We also suggest using Olaplaex, which is a fantastic conditioner, to keep your hair and hair extensions looking smooth and healthy. The better you care for your hair, the longer it will last! Rest easy, as your stylist at Trust & Mane will be in contact with you every step of the way after installation to make sure your experience with hand tied extensions is an amazing one!

Can my extensions be colored for a more blended look?

Absolutely! Just make sure you are coloring them with high-quality, permanent hair color!

Semi-permanent color will turn them orange.
